Recertification ensures the retention of your certification designation. It’s vital to complete Recertification by the anniversary date of your most recent certification or recertification to maintain the validity of all your IAITAM Certifications. If you possess multiple certification designations, a single recertification will maintain their current status. IAITAM certifications are a personal certification, therefore it is your responsibility to remain current.

Recertification necessitates taking and successfully passing the recertification exam annually, coinciding with your original certification date month. A sole recertification examination is sufficient to sustain all existing certifications. The exam focuses on core concepts and principles, aiming for ongoing learning and education. This, in turn, amplifies the worth of your IAITAM certification.

To achieve Recertification, you must engage with an educational video lasting around 1 hour, read a foundational text, and complete a 20-question assessment before your Recertification Due Date. You can find your due date by visiting the My Account page. The opportunity to attempt your Recertification assessment is available solely within the month corresponding to your recertification due date. IAITAM suggests purchasing your Recertification before the designated month, and you’ll receive reminders from IAITAM in the months preceding your Recertification period.

The Recertification certificate is only awarded upon achieving a perfect score of 100%. The assessment consists of 20 questions encompassing various question types.

What happens if I don’t recertify in time?

If you don’t undergo recertification within the specified period, your certifications will lapse. You must also ensure to remove any designations linked to the certification from all social platforms and communications. Depending on the duration of expiration, the following grace periods are applicable:

1 day to 6 months expired: You will need to successfully complete a comprehensive certification exam for each certification you possessed prior to expiration.
Beyond 6 months expired: The original certification will be entirely revoked, resulting in a complete course retake and exam to regain the certification.
